We also take jobs further out: Knightdale is about 9 miles east, Morrisville around 11 miles southwest, Rolesville 12 miles northeast, and Wendell and Youngsville both sit around 16 miles out in different directions. Gorman is roughly 17 miles and Zebulon about 18 - we'll still come, but expect a slightly longer window for scheduling on those. If you're not sure whether your address falls inside our range, just call and tell us your street and we'll give you a straight answer instead of guessing on the quote.
Distance affects scheduling more than price. A same-day slot is easier to hold for a job four miles from Social St than one 18 miles out on a day we're already routed the other direction. If timing matters to you, say so when you call.
The Work We Take On
We work on the doors and openers themselves - torsion and extension springs, cables, rollers, tracks, hinges, and panel sections, plus opener repair and replacement. Given that most houses in this area were built between 1967 and 2013, with a lot of the stock going up around 2005 across the seven areas we work most, we see a wide mix: older doors on original hardware that's no longer made, and newer doors with electronic openers that just need a sensor or logic board sorted out.
Winters here aren't brutal, but a cold snap will still find a spring that was already close to failing, and stiff steel tracks can bind up on the coldest mornings. That's a service-area pattern more than a Raleigh-specific one, but it's worth knowing if your door's acting up right when the temperature drops.

01How old does a garage door have to be before it's not worth fixing?
It depends more on the part than the year. Most homes in our area were built between 1967 and 2013, with the median around 2005, so a lot of doors are 15 to 20 years old. A worn spring or roller is almost always worth fixing at that age; a door itself with rotted panels or a bent track from that era is usually a replacement conversation.
02Do you work outside Raleigh proper, like in Knightdale or Zebulon?
Yes. We run trucks out to Knightdale (about 9 miles), Rolesville (12 miles), Youngsville and Wendell (16 miles each), Gorman (17 miles), and Zebulon (18 miles), along with the closer-in areas like North Hills, North Raleigh, and Southwest Raleigh.
03Why do springs seem to break more when it gets cold?
Our area sits in a cold-moderate climate band, and temperature swings put real stress on steel torsion springs. Cold weather stiffens the metal right when a door is getting used the most, so a spring that's already fatigued from years of cycles is more likely to snap during a cold stretch than during mild weather.
04Are the garage doors in newer subdivisions different from older ones?
Often, yes. A lot of homes in areas like Morrisville, Rolesville, and Youngsville went up in the 2000s with matched builder-grade doors and openers. Those tend to have plastic idler pulleys and rollers that wear out sooner, compared to older homes that still run original torsion springs from before 2000.
